Apple Explains iCloud in New Ad [VIDEO]

So what's this
thing all about? Apple attempts to answer that question in a new ad.
The spot, from longtime Apple ad agency TBWA\Media Arts Lab, illustrates simply how the technology works. In the ad, a user downloads an album on an iPhone 4S and then — voila! — it shows up on that user's iPad and Mac. The same goes for new contacts, calendar entries, photos and apps.
This isn't Apple's first ad for iCloud. A commercial released last November (see below) made the same point, but included narration to spell it out. That spot came a few weeks after Apple's official iCloud release in October. The release, a successor to Apple's much-maligned MobileMe, offers fairly seamless synching between Apple products, though we found its mobile-heavy emphasis .
Why release an iCloud ad now? Well, it's no secret that Apple is
— possibly as soon as early next month. Since Apple sold boatloads of iPhone 4S's last quarter, giving those new buyers another reason to stay in the Apple family is probably a good idea.

What's HotEnsure that your device is up to date. You will need iOS 8 or higher to enable iCloud Drive functionality. Older versions can use iCloud for settings and device backup. .
Tap Settings → General → Software Update. If there is an update available, tap "Download and Install".

Select what services you want to enable. There are a variety of different iCloud services that you can choose to enable. When enabled, the content will be synced to iCloud so that it is immediately accessible on all of your connected devices.
iCloud Drive - Enabling this will allow you to save your files into your iCloud Drive so that they can be accessed on your other connected devices. This requires iOS 8. If you intend to use it with your Mac as well, you will need Yosemite installed on your Mac.
Photos - You can choose how you'd like your photos uploaded to iCloud. The default option is "My Photo Stream", which will make your most recent pictures available on all of your connected devices for thirty days. You can also turn on the iCloud Photo Library beta, which will upload all of your images to iCloud for permanent storage.
Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders - Each of these options allows you to sync the related content across all of your connected devices.
Safari - Your Safari bookmarks will be available on all of your connected devices.
Backup - You can use iCloud to store a backup of your iOS device. This may not be very practical for free iCloud accounts, as the majority of your free storage will be taken by the backup.
Keychain - All of your saved passwords are stored across your connected devices.
Find My iDevice - This enables the "Find My iPhone/iPad/iPod" service, which you can use to track down a missing device.
Start using iCloud.
Download and install the iCloud Control Panel. This can be downloaded from Apple, and allows you to sync you iCloud content with your Windows PC.
Sign in with your Apple ID. See
for instructions on getting an Apple ID.
Select which iCloud services you want to use with your PC. Click the Options... button next to an entry to change the settings, such as folder locations or default browsers.
iCloud Drive - An iCloud Drive folder will be placed in your user profile directory, alongside your Documents, Pictures, and other user folders.
Photos - This will sync your photos with your desired folder. It will also create an iCloud Photos folder that is directly linked with iCloud.
Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Tasks - This will sync this content with Outlook. You must have Outlook installed in order to take advantage of this feature.
Bookmarks - This will sync your content with your browser of choice. If you are using Firefox or Chrome, you will need to download and install the iCloud Bookmarks extension, which the iCloud Control Panel will link you to.
Enable automatic downloads in iTunes. Open iTunes and log in with your Apple ID. Click Edit → Preferences → Store and check the boxes for the content you want to automatically download (Music, Apps, Books).
This will allow iTunes to automatically download music and other content that you purchase on other devices.
Start using iCloud. .
Ensure OS X is up to date. You'll get more functionality out of iCloud if your Mac has the latest updates installed. To ensure that you have the latest system updates, click Apple → Software Update... and then download the available updates.
You will need OS X Yosemite (10.10) in order to access iCloud Drive from your Mac. .
Click Apple → System Preferences → iCloud. Sign in with your Apple ID.
Select which iCloud services you want to use with your Mac. You can enable specific services for iCloud, which will determine what is synced with your Mac. Toggle these on or off by checking the boxes in the iCloud menu. Your available iCloud storage will be displayed at the bottom of the window.
iCloud Drive - If you have Yosemite, you can enable the iCloud Drive. The iCloud Drive folder will be added to your Favorites list in your Finder.
Photos - This will enable your Mac to receive your Photo Stream, as well as access the iCloud Photo Library if you enabled it on your iOS device.
Mail - If you check and respond to your iCloud email a lot on the go, syncing your Mail will keep your Mac's Mail client updated.
Contacts - This will let you access all of your phone contacts from your Mac computer.
Calendars - Keep your
synced across all of your devices.
Safari - Bookmarks added to Safari on your mobile device will appear in your Safari browser on your Mac.
Keychain - All of your stored passwords will be accessible from any of your iCloud-enabled devices and computers. Passwords are encrypted.
Find My Mac - This service will enable you to
if it is lost or stolen. The service works much like the Find My iPhone service.
Turn on automatic downloads in iTunes. Open iTunes and click iTunes → Preferences. Click the Store tab and then check the boxes for "Music" and "Apps" automatic downloads. iTunes will automatically download music purchased on other devices.
Start using iCloud services. .
Understand how iCloud Drive works on iOS devices. iCloud normally works behind the scenes on your iOS device, backing up settings and syncing your contacts. With the update to iOS 8, Apple introduced iCloud Drive, which allows you to store files that can be accessed from any device you are logged into. These files cannot be accessed directly, however (at least not on your iOS device). Instead, iCloud hooks into your apps, allowing them to access iCloud to save and open files.
You cannot manage your iCloud files from an iOS device. iCloud allows you to save and open iCloud files so that they're synced across your devices, but you'll need a computer to manage the files you have stored on it.
Open a file saved on iCloud Drive. Most major apps have been updated to include iCloud functionality if it makes sense for that app. To open a file from your iCloud Drive, you will need to open an app that can manipulate the file you want.
For example, if you want to open a document from your iCloud, open the Pages app.
Click the "+" or "Open From" option.
Select "iCloud" from the list of sources.
Browse through the folders in iCloud Drive.
Select the file (a document in this case) that you want to open.
Insert a file from iCloud. If your app allows you to insert files (for example, in Pages you can insert images), you can select files from your iCloud Drive.
When a document is open press "+".
Select "Insert From". This will open your iCloud Drive.
Save a file to your iCloud Drive. If the app opened the file from iCloud Drive, then all of your changes will be saved on the Drive as well. All iCloud connected apps automatically save your documents to iCloud Drive.
Open an Explorer window. After the iCloud Control Panel has been installed, an iCloud Drive folder will be added to your computer. This allows you to easily see what files your iCloud Drive contains. Any changes made to your Drive files on another device will be reflected here after a few moments.
You can quickly open an Explorer window by pressing ? Win+E, or clicking the Folder icon in the task bar.
Find the "iCloud Drive" folder. This will be listed in the Favorites section of the Explorer sidebar, and can also be found in your User folder.
Browse through your files. All of your iCloud Drive files and folders will be displayed in the window. You can browse through them just as you would any other folder on your computer.
Make changes to a file. If you can open the file in Windows, you can make changes to it that will be synced across all of your devices. For example, opening a Pages document will open Pages in your web browser. Any changes you make to the document will be made available to all of your connected devices.
Drag and drop files. You can add files to your iCloud Drive by simply dragging them into the iCloud Drive folder. Likewise, you can move any files from the Drive to your computer by dragging them to another location. If you remove a file from iCloud Drive, none of your connected devices will be able to access it.
Use the iCloud website. Besides using the iCloud Drive folder on your computer, you can also access most iCloud functions from the iCloud website. You can even manage your iCloud files or edit Pages documents.

下面我简单说明一下iCloud的主要功能以及设置方式。
要保证你的手机和资料的安全，其实最主要是在事先的准备工作，而不是手机丢了以后问能不能找回，亡羊补牢不如防患于未然。
1、首先你得有一个apple
ID，如果没有你快去申请一个，你可以用你的QQ邮箱去申请。而且申请非常简单，你可以在iphone手机里的app
store点击一个免费应用时，根据提示一步一步申请就可以了。这里就不详细说明。
2、设置iCloud
进入设置-就可以看到iCloud，点击进去添加上一步申请的apple ID
3、iCloud设置成功后，会打开通讯录、备忘录等功能的自动同步，这里建议打开几个必要的功能。
如上图所示，通讯录、照片流、查找我的iPhone这几个功能建议一定要打开。
1）通讯录，主要实现手机通讯录自动备份，你有新的号码输入都会上传的这个iCloud。即便手机丢了，找不回来，只需要输入apple
ID帐号密码就会自动下载最新的通讯录。
2、照片流，为什么要说打开，因为很多手机丢失后有些捡到手机的并不知道手机开通这个功能，就会拍一些自拍照什么的，这时你如果用ipad或iphone再设置icloud捡到手机的用户拍下来的照片都会同步到你的手机上。更增加找加手机的机率。
当然这也同样给你带来私隐问题，你自己拍的照片也会自动上传，如果你的帐号密码被别人偷了，你拍的照片都被别人偷走。所以小心不要拍不该拍的照片。呵呵，这个你懂的。
3、查找我的iphone功能必须开，这是找回手机主要功能。如果手机丢失，你只需要进入网站
输入你的apple ID帐号密码。就可以定位你的手机。
当然也可以在ipad上用软件查找，如ipad版的查找iphone这个程序，效果如下图。但这些都是手机丢失后的事。这里就不详说。
