Brief Introduction:
The postdoctoral research station of management science and engineering was established at the college of economics & management, Shanghai Jiaotong University. Management science and engineering is the first level discipline of China.
The former of management science and engineering discipline was the program of systems engineering discipline. Its foundation was advocated by Academician Zhang Zhongjun, Professor Wu Jianzhong and Wang Huanchen. It got the right of grant of master degree and Ph.D. in year 1981 and was approved to establish the postdoctoral research station (united with the automatic control discipline) in the same year. It was awarded as the key discipline of Shanghai in 1995. As the discipline catalog being adjusted, the discipline was renamed as management science and engineering in 1997 and with some resources of school of management joined the postdoctoral research station was founded in 1998. The discipline of management science and engineering is awarded as the key discipline of China in 2002. The relative research institutes include: Institute of Complexity, Institute of E-Government, Research center on management system, Research center on finance, research center on industrial economics and technology innovation, Institute of applied statistics, Institute of transportation, Research center on metropolitan regions of China.
&&& The research areas of this station include: theory of industrial organization, finance engineering, optimization theory and method of complex system, systems science and systems engineering, decision making of project investment and financing, complexity of social economic system, technology management and innovation, supply chain and logistics, engineering management, planning and management of transportation system, information management and information system, development economics etc. &
Brief Introduction of Director of post-doctor station of Management Science and Engineering:
Chen Hongmin. He was born at Cixi, Zhejiang province in July, 1960. He is a person of Han nationality and a member of China Democratic National Construction Association. He got his bachelor degree of mathematics in Fu Dan University in 1982. He studied for his master degree and Ph.D.in the Management School, SJTU from 1985 and got Ph.D. in 1991. He began to work for the Management School, SJTU in 1991 and became a professor in 1994 and a Ph.D. tutor in 1995. From year 1993 to 1994, he did his postdoctoral research of theory of industrial organization in University of British Columbia. He did the research of navy transportation when he was a visiting scholar in City university of Hongkong in 1998. From year 1999 to 2000, he was a visiting scholar of Sloan management school and did the research of technology management and innovation. He visited and gave lectures in Stanford University, University of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, Colombia University, Cambridge University, University of Tokyo, Ritsumeikan University, University of Sydney, University of New South Wales, University of Queensland, University of Melbourne, National University of Singapore, Nanyan Technological University, Hongkong University of Science and Technology, Chinese Universtiy of Hongkong, City University of Hongkong, etc. He is vice dean of Antai College of Management & Economics. He is the executive editor of the journal of Systems Management, the executive member of systems engineering society of China, a member of Shanghai Committee of Chinese People''s Political Consultative Conference and other social service roles. He has done more than 10 national level projects including those supported by NNFS and Published more than 100 academic papers. He was awarded the second prize of progress in science of technology by China ministry of education, the title of excellent young teacher in Shanghai and title of excellent worker of education in Shanghai.
