The Current Situation of Wushu Community Sports Body-building
Activities in Yiyang District
As a Chinese quintessence and treasure, Wushu is more and more popular in the
mass. In the recent years, in the process of implementing of body-building activities,
Wushu activities are grand and develop quickly. In the new century, to make Wushu
serve people better, it should develop continuously. Therefore how to make Wushu
more popular in the community sports, and how to strengthen the position of it, it’s up
to us Wushu workers.
Yiyang District is a underdeveloped , medium-sized one in the central Hunan
Province. By the methods of consulting literature, questionnaire, experts’ surveying,
interviewing, logical analyzing, mathematical statistics and so on, this passage has
investigated 600 Wushu fans in 28 community sports places. It also has a research of
the current situation of Wushu in Yiyang city. Here is the conclusion:
1. Female Wushu participants are more than male ones and mainly middle and
old-aged, retired people with lower education and from all walks of life. Actually
civil servants and students are remaining to bring into play.
2. Almost all of the participants are in good health. They take Wushu for keeping fit
and curing diseases. They don’t have a full understanding of Wushu for body
building, not realize the importance of physical consumption, if so, very low.
3. In the spots of community in Yiyang city, most participants are from Heshan
Division. Each spot has one to six items, among of which shadowboxing and
Mulan series are quite popular, but they also believe waist drum and gymnastics
also count, thus attract many people.
4. Wushu spots, most of which are free, open at 6 to 9 A.M. and P.M. ,are organized
loosely and freely.
5. There is a great shortage of directors in the District, so people have to learn from
each other, which can’t improve the qual
