Young Supporters Hospitality Day
In recognition of the number of younger supporters attending home and
away matches, the Club will be hosting a Young Supporters Hospitality Day
for the game against Albion Rovers on the 10th of January. The event is
aimed towards 13 to 17 year olds and includes a 2 course meal, complimentary
soft drinks, seating in the main stand and a chance to meet the Management
and Players. The price is ?20 with a reduction to ?14 for season ticket
holders. This would make an ideal Christmas present for the young supporter.

The Club are running a bus to the match away to East Fife on Saturday the 27th of December. It leaves Gayfield at 1pm and tickets can be bought from Gayfield on weekday mornings. The price is ?10.
East Stirlingshire 2 Arbroath 3
The Lichties beat a plucky East Stirlingshire side 3-2 at Ochilview. The
visitors were in control in the first half when Simon Murray pounced on a
defensive error in the 27th minute for 1-0. Arbroath then lost their way as
the hosts came out the stronger for the second half and David McKenna
levelled things in the 55th minute before Neil McCabe's long range shot made
it 2-1 for the Shire a minute later. Allan Moore rang the changes and the
introduction of Paul McManus, Kevin Buchan and Scott McBride began to tell.
McManus levelled at 2-2 in the 73rd minute before finishing well from Craig
Johnstone's cross with 8 minutes remaining to keep the Lichties at the top
of the league table.
Prior to the match against Annan Athletic, both Clubs remembered the Christmas Day match in
World War 1 when both sides came out from the trenches to play football together. Our picture shows players and officials along with Nathan Waldie who was mascot for the day.

Highlights Available
Arbroath beat Annan Athletic by 3 goals to 2 at a windy Gayfield. Bobby
Linn opened the scoring when he rifled in a shot on 15 minutes before Jack
Smith made it 2 on 56. The match looked over as a contest 2 minutes later
when Dylan Carreiro scored after a fantastic solo effort to put the hosts 3
up. The visitors however fought back and Ryan McStay pulled a goal back from
a free kick in the 79th minute before Scott Davidson curled a shot past Marc
McCallum with 3 minutes remaining to leave a nervy finish for the Lichties.
Elgin City 1 Arbroath 1
The Lichties returned from the Highlands with a share of the spoils in an
entertaining 1-1 draw. Simon Murray opened the scoring in the 33rd minute
when he raced through and composed himself to beat Michael Fraser. It looked
like Arbroath would hold on for the win until substitute Craig Gunn scored
with his first kick of the game with 13 minutes remaining.

Arbroath FC are hosting a Burns Lunch on Saturday the 31st
of January prior to the match against East Fife and a Ladies Day on Saturday
the 28th of February prior to the match against Elgin City. These would make

Half Price Season Tickets
Half price season tickets are now available from Gayfield on weekday
mornings between 9.30am and 1pm. Prices are ?90 for Adults, ?45 for Senior
Citizens, ?30 for Under 16s and ?15 for Under 12's. Half price season
tickets are popular at this time of year and make ideal Christmas presents.
They will be valid for the Montrose match on the 3rd of January and then for
all games until the end of the season.
Arbroath have been drawn away to Hibernian in the 5th round of the William Hill Scottish Cup. The tie is scheduled to take place over the weekend of the 7th/8th of February.
William Hill Scottish Cup 4th Round
Bo'ness United 0 Arbroath 5
Arbroath have reached the last 16 of the competition for the first time in 21
years after a resounding 5-0 victory against the Junior side. The hosts were the
brighter to begin, with a couple of chances spurned before the Lichties took the
lead. On the 27th minute, Mark Peat dithered over collecting a ball into the box
and Simon Murray pounced to net from close range. In the second half, the
visitors became more and more dominant and eventually scored four goals in 8
minutes. Paul McManus doubled the lead on 68 minutes with a fine finish from six
yards, before Kevin Nicoll teed up Simon Murray a minute later. On 75, Murray
grabbed his first senior hat trick when he raced through and around the helpless
Mark Peat and coolly slotted in the 4th. The rout finished a minute later when
McManus emulated Murray's effort for the 5th. Although the score line finished
5-0, Bo'ness gave a good account of themselves.

Bo'ness United v Arbroath, William Hill Scottish Cup 4th Round Arrangements
Supporters are asked to take note of the following arrangements for the match away to Bo'ness United this Saturday.
Gates will open at 1230 for a 1.30pm kick off.
Arbroath FC will occupy the West Terracing of the Ground which is an uncovered area.
Toilets & refreshment kiosk will be available in this part of the Ground.
Early arrival is advised as there are only 2 turnstiles available for Arbroath FC Supporters.
There is limited parking in the immediate proximity to the ground.
Entry is by Cash - ?10 for Adults, ?5 for concessions.
Arbroath 4 Clyde 0
The Lichties got back on track with a resounding 4-0 win against Clyde.
The visitors were the brighter in the opening 10 minutes before Adam Hunter
was tripped in the box and a penalty awarded, with Paul McManus converting
from the spot. Simon Murray then doubled the lead two minutes later before
Bobby Linn rifled in a fine shot 3 minutes from half time. Murray then added
his second just before the break when he reacted to Neil Parry's rebound.
Although there was no further scoring, both goalkeepers were tested in the
second half with each producing some fine saves.
Tickets for the supporters bus to the game away to Bo'ness on the 29th of November will go on sale from Monday between 9.30am and 1pm. Price is ?10 and the bus will leave Gayfield at 10.30am.
Albion Rovers 2 Arbroath 1
A goal from John Gemmell 11 minutes from time secured victory for Albion
Rovers at Cliftonhill. Marc McKenzie opened the scoring in the 10th minute
before Scott McBride struck a perfect free kick over the wall on the half
hour mark to level. McManus and Stewart spurned chances for the visitors
before John Gemmell headed in the winner for Rovers.
Arbroath have signed goalkeeper, Marc McCallum on an emergency loan from Dundee United.
The kick off time for the William Hill Scottish Cup 4th round tie away to Bo'ness United has been agreed for 1.30pm
Arbroath FC will be running supporter buses to the Scottish Cup tie against Bo'ness United on Saturday 29th November 2014.The tickets will go on sale at the Gayfield from 17th November 2014 and can be purchased between 9.30am and 1pm. Tickets will cost ?10 for all. We have not been advised of the kick-off time as yet so departure time from Gayfield has still yet to be determined.
Arbroath 1 Queens Park 2
Arbroath were edged out 2-1 against Queens Park. Shaun Fraser opened the
scoring in only the second minute when he found space and slotted the ball
past Scott Morrison. As the game progressed, the Lichties came more and more
into the game but spurned several chances in front of goal. Queens caught
the home side and broke away in the 79th minute with Kevin Fotheringham
rifling a shot off the underside of the bar and in for 2-0. 3 minutes later
Paul McManus pulled a goal back with a fine header from Jack Smith's cross.
The Lichties kept pressing for an equaliser in the torrential rain but the
Spiders held on for a 2-1 win.
Michael Travis has left the Club by mutual agreement.
Hospitality Announcement
In order to enhance the usage of the Hospitality Suite for both football and non-football related events within Gayfield, the Board of Directors have recently undertaken a review of existing arrangements. This excellent facility is currently under used and in order to ensure that this important Club Facility is used to its maximum potential, the Board are delighted to have appointed
(SES Ltd) to assist in this work. The Club?s current Events Manager Julie Harper will work alongside SES Ltd and will continue to host events held at Gayfield. The Hospitality Suite is an extremely important revenue stream for the Club and the Board of Directors would encourage existing and potential new users of this facility to support SES ltd in their work and ultimately assist the Manager and his squad of players, who have had an excellent start to the 2014/15 season.

Arbroath 2 Nairn County 1
The Lichties saw off the challenge of Nairn County with a 2-1 win at
Gayfield. Paul McManus opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a penalty
after Simon Murray had been fouled. Scott McBride made it 2-0 with a
powerful header from a corner in the 66th minute. Nairn County however gave
a very good account of themselves and were rewarded with a goal from Sean
Webb with 2 minutes of normal time remaining to force a nervy finish for
Arbroath. Goalkeeper, David Crawford sadly had to leave the field midway
through the second half with a bad knee injury after twisting it.
Montrose 1 Arbroath 5
Arbroath thrashed local rivals Montrose at Links Park. Simon Murray
opened the scoring on 17 minutes after converting Bobby Linn's goalmouth
cross. Simon Carreiro then doubled the lead with a fine shot from the edge
of the box on 52. Montrose pulled a goal back through a Garry Wood penalty 5
minutes later before a bizarre last 12 minutes of the game. The Lichties
were awarded a free kick on the edge of David Crawford's goal and the
goalkeeper stepped up and lofted it forward. The ball bounced over McManus
towards Lucas Birnstingl who was out near the edge of his box and as the
ball continued to rise, he put his hands up to stop it only for it to be
parried into the net for 3-1. Things got worse in the 84th minute for the
Links Park custodian when he was adjudged to have brought Paul McManus down
in the box. Birnstingl was sent off and McManus converted the penalty. In
injury time, McManus beat the off side trap to slot the ball past Garry Wood
who had taken over between the posts.
Annan Athletic 0 Arbroath 1
Arbroath edged out Annan Athletic in a closely fought encounter at
Galabank. Dylan Carreiro scored the only goal of the game when he found
space and sight of goal from the edge of the box and fired home in the 11th
minute. Carreiro had another shot off the bar while David Crawford in the
Lichties goal made an outstanding triple save and also watched an Annan
header hit the bar late on.

Arbroath 4 East Stirlingshire 0
The Lichties swept aside East Stirlingshire with a resounding 4-0 win at
Gayfield. In the 20th minute, Aldin El-Zubaidi opened the scoring with his
first of the season from a powerful header after Adam Hunter's corner. Bobby
Linn doubled the lead after rifling a shot on 33 minutes. In the second
half, Arbroath continued to dominate and substitute, Kevin Buchan finished a
fine move for a 3rd in the 74th minute. Simon Murray then had his just
rewards for an afternoon of hard work with a fine strike on 80 minutes.
Montrose 1 Arbroath 3
The Lichties managed to see of a resilient Montrose side in the 2nd round
replay of the William Hill Scottish Cup. Paul McManus opened the scoring for
the first of a hat trick on 4 minutes with a fine finish. Deep into first
half injury time, Paul Harkins levelled for the Mo after some sloppy
defending from the men in maroon. The second half was an even tussle that
ended goalless so extra time was required. Just 2 minutes into the first
period, McManus pounced after some fine passing play to edge Arbroath in
front and 9 minutes later he scored a 3rd to put the Lichties 3-1 up, which
is how it finished. The reward is a 3rd round home tie against Nairn County
on Saturday the 1st of November.

Arbroath 2 Montrose 2
Arbroath drew 2-2 with Montrose in the 2nd round of the William Hill
Scottish Cup. The Lichties opened the scoring on 7 minutes when Paul McManus
was first to pounce on a Simon Murray rebound but Gary Wood levelled for the
visitors with a header on 17. Adam Hunter then put Arbroath 2-1 up 7 minutes
later with a fine shot before Paul Watson restored parity with a long range
free kick that passed everyone into the net. After what was an entertaining
and closely fought match by both sides, the winner will now be decided with
a replay at Links Park on Saturday the 11th of October at 2pm. The scheduled
league match that was due to take place away to Annan Athletic will now be
rearranged for a midweek.
Elgin Match Highlights Available on Lich TV
Arbroath 1 Elgin City 0
Arbroath continued the fine run of form by beating Elgin City 1-0 at
Gayfield through a Simon Murray strike with 15 minutes remaining. After a
fairly even first half, the Lichties forged several chances but a
combination of poor finishing and good goalkeeping from Michael Fraser kept
the scores level. Elgin had chances of their own with a goal line clearance
from Craig Johnstone required and Marvin Andrews a particular threat at set
pieces. Eventually Arbroath broke the deadlock when Simon Murray found space
in the box to turn and shoot into the bottom corner for his 3rd of the
Clyde 2 Arbroath 5
Arbroath returned to the top of the League 2 table after a resounding 5-2
victory away to Clyde. Paul McManus put the Lichties ahead in the 25th
minute before Brian McQueen was sent off for a second bookable offence for
the Broadwood side. Scott Ferguson levelled with a well struck free kick in
36 and 2 minutes later Scott McBride restored the Arbroath lead. Ferguson
then levelled once again in injury time at the end of the first 45. The
second half became a pulsating end to end affair and the Lichties scored 3
excellent goals with Dylan Carreiro firing 2 unstoppable shots and Simon
Murray netting from a superb volley.

The Lichties suffered the first league defeat of the season at home to
East Fife. Scott McBride hit the bar with a free kick early on but it
remained 0-0 at half time. Allan Walker fired the visitors ahead in the 51st
minute from close range and Kevin Smith doubled the lead 6 minutes later
with a shot that David Crawford couldn't hold. Arbroath created some great
chances through Linn, Carreiro and Murray but the East Fife goalkeeper,
Allan Fleming had an exceptional game between the posts.

Arbroath maintained a 100% start to the League with a 3-1 win over derby
rivals, Montrose. Bobby Linn opened the scoring on 14 minutes after beating
the offside trap before Kevin Buchan doubled the lead on 22. Simon Murray
then made it 3 just after the hour with a fine solo effort before Graham
Webster pulled a goal back on 82. The Links Park men had Declan O'Kane red
carded in the last minute. Lichties keeper, David Crawford had to be
substituted with an injury just prior to half time.
Queens Park 0 Arbroath 2
Arbroath ran out 2-0 winners away to Queens Park at the Excelsior
Stadium. Darren Miller had a goal disallowed for offside for Queens before
Scott McBride finally broke the deadlock on 69 minutes when his mistimed
shot somehow trundled over the line. With the introduction of Simon Murray
and new signing, Jack Smith, the Lichties had gradually begun to turn the
screw and were rewarded in the last minute. Bobby Linn broke forward down
the middle of the park with a fine run, knocked it left for Scott McBride
who then passed over to Smith who made no mistake to beat Muir in the Queens
goal from 12 yards out.
Arbroath 1 Albion Rovers 0
The Lichties beat Albion Rovers 1-0 in the first home league game of the
season. With a strong wind blowing at Gayfield, the home side managed to
hold out for 0-0 at half time playing against it. On 66 minutes, Paul
McManus scored the only goal with a sublime finish after Mark Whately had
lofted a long free kick diagonally over from his own half. The ball landed
perfectly for the striker to fire it into the bottom corner. Both sides had
chances during the game with Bobby Linn hitting the woodwork after a fine

launched to assist clubs
in promoting the
positive aspects of the
matchday experience, and
to counter the threat to
the health and safety of
supporters caused by use
of flares and other
pyrotechnics in football
grounds across the
country. The football
bodies and senior clubs
are encouraged to use
the bespoke campaign
around matchdays in a
collective effort to
eradicate the use of
flares inside the
stadium. The move has
been supported by Police
Scotland and the
Football Safety Officers
Association (Scotland).

Berwick Rangers 1 Arbroath 2
Arbroath came from a goal behind to win the first league game of the
season at Shielfield. Paul Willis fired in for the hosts after goalkeeper,
David Crawford directed a clearance to him on 6 minutes. A stern half time
talk brought the Lichties out more fired up and on 53 minutes, Kevin Buchan
scored his second goal of the season. William Bald had made a great double
save but the former Peterhead striker reacted quickest to make it 1-1. On
the hour mark, Arbroath were awarded a free kick which Scott McBride hit
against the underside of the bar and then looked to bounce in, with Paul
McManus heading in to make sure.

Arbroath went out of the League Cup with a 2-1 defeat against Hamilton
Academical at New Douglas Park. Hamilton opened the scoring after just 3
minutes through Dougie Imrie, before Louis Longridge doubled the lead on 69.
Some good defending had kept the Lichties in the game and Kevin Buchan
headed into the corner in the last minute after a fine cross from Adam
Hunter for 2-1. Johnny Lindsay had to be substituted after 25 minutes with

Petrofac Training Cup 1st Round
Arbroath were beaten 4-1 by a strong Alloa side in the Petrofac Training
Cup 1st round at Gayfield. Stephen Simmons opened the scoring with a
stunning shot on 9 minutes before Greig Spence added a hat trick on 54, 70
and 83 minutes. Some good work by Lichtie, Simon Murray, forced an own goal
from Jonathan Tiffoney in the last minute for an Arbroath consolation goal.

Arbroath drew 3-3 in a thoroughly entertaining final preseason match for
the Lichties. Dale Hilson put the visitors up on 20 minutes before the
impressive Bobby Linn scored twice for a 2-1 lead. Omar Kader then fired the
visitors level just before half time. Paul McManus restored a lead for
Arbroath on 49 minutes in a match which had become more like a derby than a
preseason friendly. Just as it looked like the Lichties would win the
encounter, Chris Templeman scored to make it 3-3.
