How it Works
Simply attach your camera and the EPIC directs you through the steps to capture a gigapixel image. Set the upper left and lower right corners of your panorama and the EPIC automatically organizes the hundreds or even thousands of photos your camera will take into rows or columns. The robotic arm clicks away to capture amazing detail in a short amount of time.

If you are a GigaPan Epic Pro owner, you will want to take advantage of these recent firmware updates:

Requirements
Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, with 1GB RAM (2GB recommended)
Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard or newer Intel processor (PowerPC not supported) USB mini-B cable
The installer software is not yet compatible with Window 8
The newest Firmware version available includes multiple language menu options and new capabilities for quickly and easily shooting high-resolution panoramic images. It includes translated menu options available in French, German, and Spanish.
Auto Off Timer
Setting the off timer to disable means that the unit will not power down automatically after been left alone for 5 minutes.
Optimize Pan
Optimize Pan has 2 choices, OFF and ON. Turning ON (default) means that whenever a pan motion that is greater than 360 degrees is required, the unit will travel in the opposite direction (which is shorter and takes less time). Use caution if you are shooting a 360-pano, each subsequent row will cause the unit to rotate another revolution, winding up any wires that are attached to the unit (e.g., battery charger). Turning it off will cause pan motions to move strictly back and forth and prevent any &wind-up&. When shooting a 360 pano and your charger cord or remote cord is wrapping around the unit, try turning optimize pan off. This will prevent any &wind-up& from happening.

Mac User Instructions
Download your new EPIC Pro Firmware and the Firmware Installer. The file will be named gigapan_firmware_setup_1.1.dmg or similar, depending on the version.
Run the installer by double&clicking on the image. When the new Finder windows pops up, drag the Gigapan_Firmware_Upload application to the Applications folder.
Obtain the latest firmware for your GigaPan EPIC Pro. To make sure you are uploading a newer version of the firmware, compare the firmware version with the version already on your EPIC Pro by selecting &Options& & &Expert Options& & &Firmware Version&.
With your EPIC Pro turned on, plug a USB mini&B cable into your computer and into your EPIC Pro's mini USB port (camera cable port).
Turn on your EPIC Pro. You should see &Firmware Import& on the LCD screen of your EPIC Pro indicating that it is ready to receive new firmware.
Go to the Applications folder and double click on the Gigapan_Firmware_Upload application to run it.
Click on the &Browse& button and browse to the firmware file referenced in Step 3.
Click on &Program&. The new EPIC Pro Firmware will then be uploaded into your EPIC Pro.
After it is finished uploading, you will be asked to unplug the USB cable, which will power on the EPIC Pro automatically. The next time you power your EPIC Pro on, the new firmware will run.
