郭守敬（）河北邢台人，元代杰出的科学家，对天文、历法、水利三方面贡献很大。中统三年（1262年）提出修治燕京附近运道、开发邢台、磁州农田水利及豫北沁河、丹河水利等六项建议，这些建议得到元始祖忽必烈的称赞，并被任命为“提举诸路河渠”，受命负责河流与渠道的整修、管理事务。中统四年（1263年），郭守敬因兴修水利有功，升任副河渠使。1264年在西夏地方行政长官张文谦的支持下，在宁夏等地修复、新建了数十条引黄灌溉渠道，并修建了许多水闸。至今仍在发挥作用的唐徕渠、汉延渠等十几条渠道就是当时重修的。次年郭守敬升任都水少监，协助都水掌管全国的水利事务。回到大都后，郭守敬提出重开金口河，以引浑河（今永定河）之水入大都，兴漕运与灌溉之利。至1266年，全面整修了金口河，使这条旧...
